N26 announced in February 2020 that it would leave the UK and close all UK accounts, citing its inability to continue operating there on a European banking licence after Brexit.

Simple, the US banking app acquired by BBVA, was discontinued in 2021 and its customers moved to BBVA USA accounts. simple.com now redirects to PNC.

Bó — NatWest digital bank wound down, accounts closed
Bó, the consumer digital bank launched by NatWest in November 2019, was wound down as a customer-facing brand in 2020. Its own site still carries the closure notice.

Volt Bank — deposit business closed, banking licence returned
Volt announced in June 2022 that it would close its deposit-taking business and return its Australian banking licence, citing an inability to raise funding.

Xinja Bank — banking licence revoked after voluntary exit
Australian neobank Xinja returned all customer deposits and exited banking. APRA revoked its authorised deposit-taking institution licence in February 2021.
